Bond Captures Gold!!

On February 29th, 2016, Bond’s Concert Band competed against other schools at the Kiwanis Music Festival of Greater Toronto, held at Northern Secondary School. The Band beautifully performed two pieces of music and won the Gold Medal.
“We played ‘Fires of Mazama’ and ‘Louie Louie’. I think the students did extremely well today. They worked very hard; especially since many of them were very active with other sports or choir events. They practiced for a long time leading to the performance,” said Michael Allen, a Music Teacher and the Conductor of the Concert Band. “I am very proud of them and how they did today. I believe they also feel good about it.”
Mr. Allen mentioned this was the first time that Bond’s Concert Band won the Gold Medal, and he is extremely proud of every member.
When asking about his future plans for the Band, Mr. Allen said that he would keep the positive environment for the students, “I always encourage them to love music and to love playing. I want them to have fun. Of all the participating schools today, I believe our kids had the biggest smile on their faces the whole time.”
Congratulations to all the Concert Band members at Bond! You did great job, and we are truly proud of each and every one of you!
