“Through the Lens Film Club” will have the first movie discussion in the Bond forum in May 2021. The club show students films made by people of colour in order to young people to make inquiries about the content they consume and the social implications of that content and amplify the voices and art of people of colour.

Secondary students are welcome to join the Club activities with the permission from their parents. The club will provide students something else to do to manage the boredom of lockdown life, and share interesting new films with students to broaden horizons. Also, for secondary students, “this is an academic/artistic/social issues club- which looks great on college/university applications”, the Club founder, Mr. Wiesblatt said.

There will be a teacher trial week for the film club before giving students access to the club page. Our intention is to gauge teacher interest and to give teachers a chance to encourage their students to join the club.
