Bond Annual Halloween Parade on October 31

Starting by 9:10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct 31st

We will be holding our annual Halloween Parade through the halls of Bond Academy, starting by 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct 31st. Parents are welcome to watch the parade.
  • If the weather cooperates, parents can view the parade from outside. The parade will walk out the front door and enter the cafeteria door.
  • The parade will circle twice through the route.
  • If the weather or yard conditions do not permit an outdoor parade, the parade will be held indoors and will cycle through the front foyer, gym hallway and secondary hallway, twice.

An email will be sent out on Tuesday morning informing parents which route will be followed.

Students can arrive at school wearing their Halloween costumes for the parade but will need to bring a change in clothing as well. Tuesday, Halloween, is a Dress Down Day.
  • All students will be required to change out of their costumes before lunch.
  • Participation in dressing up in Halloween costumes is voluntary.

PEANUT/NUT FREE: A reminder that if you are sending any Halloween Treats for the children, then they need to be PEANUT and NUT FREE.

Formal Uniform: A reminder that as of November 1st, students in Grades 4 to 8 are expected to wear their formal uniform, which includes a Bond Oxford Shirt and a Bond tie. This includes black dress shoes for all students.
  • Polo shirts for students in Montessori to Grade 3 are acceptable or they can also wear their formal uniform.

Clarification on Halloween Weapons

There are questions regarding what items students can include as part of their Halloween costumes, specifically a weapon.
  • If a costumed character has an associated weapon (for example purchased as part of a package such as a lightsaber or nunchucks), then those can be brought to school and displayed as part of the costume during our Halloween parade.
  • Any weapon associated with the costume must not be similar, in appearance, to the actual weapon. In appearance, they must appear to be obviously fake.
  • Replicas of actual weapons (handguns, long guns, knives, etc.) that look like the actual weapon are not permitted, even if purchased as part of a package. Students are not allowed to bring these replicas to school as costume props.
  • Once the parade is over, the "weapon" must be placed in the locker or cubby and left there until the end of the day.
