School Continues Remote Learning

January 13th, 2021

Bond Academy continues with current daily schedule of remote learning for all grades including Montessori Casa, Kindergarten, Elementary and Secondary until further notice, starting from the first of week of 2021 since the Provincial government has extended remote learning until February 10th as part of further Provincial lockdown measures.

The Bond Academy Elementary program introduced Remote Learning March 25th using Zoom and Google Meet to introduce concepts and content and maintain class identity and relationships with students and staff. Lessons were reinforced with assignments. Homeroom Classes and French in the morning were supplemented with afternoon interactive Music, Drama, Gym and Library. Many athletic events had to be canceled but each week, the Head of Physical Education department sent and demonstrated an athletic program for each grade to follow. We have worked toward maintaining our sense of the Bond Family from a distance.

The Bond Academy Secondary remote learning program went online on March 27th, 2020, a full ten days before the Ontario school boards. The program utilized a combination of Zoom and Moodle software. Classes run in real time following the schedule we had during the school year. We had a parent interview day in which both local and international parents were contacted. Each period, if a student is absent at the beginning of class, we contact the parents. In the afternoon, teachers hold office hours for extra help.
