Feb. 16, Schools Resume In-person Learning

Today, the Minister of Education announced that in-person learning will resume for schools in Toronto on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 after Family Day. Schools under the authority of Toronto Public Health, which includes private schools like Bond Academy, are scheduled to return to classes following the Family Day Long Weekend!
Until that time, schools will remain closed to most students and staff and remote learning will continue.
- Elementary online remote classes will be closed
Please note that once we return to classes in the school, the online remote classes at Bond Academy Elementary will be closed.
- Two Options of Learning at Secondary
Bond Secondary Students still have the option to learn remotely if that is preferred. Students could contact Student Service Department by Wednesday, February 10th if they would prefer to switch to this option for Term 3.
- New Measures Against COVID-19
To continue to protect students and staff against COVID-19 in the classroom, Ontario is introducing new measures including, but not limited to province-wide access, in consultation with the local PHU, to targeted asymptomatic testing for students and staff, as well as mandatory masking requirement for students in Grades 1-3 and masking requirement for Grades 1-12 outdoors where physical distancing cannot be maintained.
Bond's Covid-19 policies regarding masks, cohorting, social distancing and the use of hand sanitizers is still in place and daily Covid-19 questionnaires will resume on Tuesday, February 16th. Next week, students and parents will receive additional details about the safe reentry into the school, as well as a reminder on the Health and Safety protocols. The MOE has introduced stricter protocols than were mandated in August. Many of the updated protocols on mask wearing have already been in effect since September's opening at Bond Academy, but our procedures will be revisited to access their full compliance.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone back in class!
