Bond Stands by our Muslim Community

June 8th, 2021

Bond Academy is saddened by the horrific hate-motivated attack in London, Ontario in which four family members were killed and another family member seriously injured.

There is no place in our society for racism and hatred and  we stand by our Muslim community and with all of our fellow Canadians in denouncing this horrific act.

As a country, we must do better. This is clearly evidenced by this cowardly attack, as well as the further bringing to light of the atrocity of the Residential school system on Indigenous Canadians, the recent anti-Asian violence, and a recent study by York University that states that "70% percent of Black people regularly experience racism in Canada."

It is essential that everyone at Bond feels welcome, safe, and an integral part of our community. Student Services, teachers, and administrative staff are here to listen to their concerns. We are also committed to being part of the ongoing dialog on how we can all do better so that we can truly be a country, where all citizens and members of our community are treated equally.
