Bond Extension of Online Learning
June 3rd, 2021
With the announcement yesterday by Premier Ford and Minister of Education, Steven Lecce, the decision to move forward with online learning has been confirmed; we will not be returning to in-class learning for this school year. As a result, we will need to proceed with the rest of the school year under those circumstances. The only exception to the online schools, that was proposed by Premier Ford, was an outdoor opportunity for in-person Graduation ceremonies.
Once we have further clarification from the Ministry of Education and Toronto Public Health with respect to online learning and access to the school, we will be addressing the following:
- Establish a scheduled pickup time for families to complete the removal of student personal belongings from the school.
- Distribution of Report Cards
- Grade 8 Graduation options
- The feasibility of offering an end-of-year opportunity for all grades to have an in-person end-of-the-year closure with their classmates. Please note that we have received no direction at this time to guide us in developing the protocols for students to return to school with their classmates.
- Summer Camps: A decision as to whether we will proceed with our Summer Camps will be made by early next week, at the latest.
You can be assured our staff will continue to provide quality online learning opportunities for all of our students. Thank you for your ongoing support.
