Charity Month in April: Fundraising for Unicef Emergency Relief
April 1st, 2022
On Friday, April 1st,2022 Bond Academy had a Dress Down Day with the proceeds going towards our Unicef Relief Fund. It is starting Bond Charity Month in April.
As an international community, and in the spirit of global unity, Bond will be hosting a couple of fundraisers in April, with proceeds going directly to UNICEF Emergency Relief. These proceeds will help children in need gain access to basic necessities, such as food, water, clothing, shelter, and medical care, as well as education.
Now more than ever, UNICEF needs our help to get life-saving essentials to vulnerable children and families. Unicef will match our donation, so the more the better.
Please donate any spare change to UNICEF's Emergency Fund (in Bond Library). Your donation will be matched by UNICEF.

This is a call for anyone who may be able to offer either a product or service from their place of business that could serve as a possible prize for the auction. No option is too small, and any item would be welcome with enormous gratitude.
This is, we can have no doubt, a particularly urgent time of need. By many metrics, the worst long-term, ongoing humanitarian crisis remains in Yemen, with the UN estimating that over 20 million people are in urgent need.
Children in other crisis zones around the world, such as Syria, Afghanistan, and South Sudan continue to rely on donations from organizations such as UNICEF to help provide basic necessities of life.
Many in our community are concerned with the continuously escalating crisis in Ukraine. According to the UN, it is the fastest-growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II, with the displacement of over 10 million people (as of this e-mail), a figure growing by the hour. Millions of these are children, with a shocking portion of them fleeing unaccompanied by adults, leaving them particularly vulnerable to illness, hunger, violence, and exploitation.
The main event of our fundraising endeavour will be an online auction of various items, some small and others more substantial. The auction will take place the week of April 25th - May 1st, and will be open to all members of the community to participate--even from another country!
In the coming weeks, we will be collecting donations from local businesses and individuals for goods or services that will serve as auction items. We hope to collect all donations by Tuesday, April 14th at the latest.
