2023 Spirit of Wisdom Inter-school Quiz Contest at Bond Academy

February 23rd, 2023

"Explore, Discover, Collaborate & Compete", the Spirit of Wisdom Inter-School Quiz Competition was held at Bond Academy on February 22nd, 2023. Teams from Bayview Glen School, Crestwood Preparatory College, Hawthorn School, Linden School, and Bond Academy participated in the competition.

The quiz included questions on Canadian and world history, literature, technology, and social sciences in various formats such as multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and short-answer. The competition aimed to broaden students' knowledge base and enhance their understanding of Canadian culture, making it a great opportunity for exploring knowledge and interests beyond the textbooks.

The competition was hosted by Bond Academy with support from the University of Toronto Student Education Outreach Group, which has supported the event for years. Three students from the group, Benjamin George, Ishaan Chandok, and Michael Metallo, served as moderators and designers of all the questions in this competition.

The questions in the competition were designed to challenge students' knowledge and critical thinking skills, and the participants were eager to compete. Each school team consists of four students and the team that won the highest number of points was awarded the title and the golden trophy of "Spirit of Wisdom."

Congratulations to the No. 1 team from Crestwood Preparatory College, who won the title of "Spirit of Wisdom,” while Bond Academy won silver and Bayview Glen won Third Place with bronze.

The competition reflects the commitment of schools to broaden students' intellectual horizons and cultivate their love of learning. All students played very well during the competition and showed their passion for learning.

The Spirit of Wisdom Inter-School Quiz Competition was a great success. Thanks to Dr. George Jacob for organizing such an amazing event and thanks to the University of Toronto Student Education Outreach Group, Bond Supporting Team, and volunteers for making this program a success!
