June 9th, 2023

In the digital age we live in, where technology and innovation play an integral role in the world, nurturing young minds with essential computer skills has become a requirement. Recently, the Ontario Ministry of Education announced that an updated technological education curriculum for secondary students will be in an essential part of the requirements for completion of an OSSD effecting the need to understand the ongoing technological innovations such as artificial intelligence.

At Bond, we recognize the critical need to prepare students for a future that is increasingly driven by technology. That’s why we are delighted to offer comprehensive computer science courses for both elementary and secondary students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a technology driven world, and building the foundation for the future understanding of digital innovation.

Bond’s comprehensive computer science courses are curriculum based, and students will be able to master the complex concepts and required skills through a progressive fun learning environment. Montessori and Kindergarten students will be introduced to the basics of computer science such as the correct use of the mouse and keyboard. The intermediate courses offered to elementary students from Grades 1 to 6, such as computer hardware and software constructions, will focus on practical applications, empowering the student’s computer competences, such as their coding ability. Students in Grades 7 and 8 will learn the advanced courses that are bridges to the updated Technological Education Curriculum in their future secondary education.

Bond emphasizes project-based learning, while encouraging students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world scenarios. As well as practical learning, curriculum including the etiquette of digital citizenship is also at the core learning of Bond’s computer courses. Guiding the student to create a positive digital footprint and safe interaction with others online, while cultivating critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, and preparing students for the challenges they may encounter in their future academic and professional careers.

Our comprehensive computer science courses, offered to all K-12 students, provide students with a strong foundation, diverse exploration, and advanced mastery of contemporary technological concepts.
