Bond Academy Women's Basketball Program

Bond Academy Women's Basketball program cultivates and mentors student-athletes within the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. We utilize a holistic approach to providing intense training for inspiring female athletes who have a desire to play basketball at the U Sports or NCAA level.

Our Academy demonstrates a strong commitment for continued progression by encouraging on-court skills development and providing exposure to post-secondary recruitment services that offer athletes an opportunity to display their talents. Our program is structured to challenge and motivate female athletes to demonstrate elite performance and enhance their skills to succeed in a college/university environment.

The Academy empowers mental strength and female leadership. It is our mandate to create a safe environment where skill and performance are at the highest level. With an experienced coaching staff who are well-informed of the intricacies of training female athletes, our program is specifically designed to develop female basketball players. The athletes will be exposed to elite leagues (i.e. OSBA) and participate in Canadian and US tournaments and showcases. Through our recruiting services, our partnerships with U Sports, OCAA and NCAA, our program has helped create opportunities for athletes to continue to play basketball at a post-secondary level.

Achievements

Bond Academy Wins 2022 Chris Smalling Tourney

On October 29^th, 2022, Bond Academy won this year’s CROWN Scout presents… Chris Smalling Tournament with a tight 53-50 victory against the Crestwood Lions in the Championship Final game. The victory came on the strength of double digit efforts that came from Megan Jasie with her 11 points and from Santianna Davy and Skylar Forbes each scoring 10 points for the first year prep program.

The matchup between Bond and Crestwood was a tight one throughout the game. Crestwood held on to a slim one point lead after the first quarter thanks to Toby Fournier scoring 10 of her total 20 points in the game, in the opening quarter. But, but halftime the two teams were deadlocked at 31.

The second half saw Bond pull ahead, outscoring their Toronto rivals by four points in the third quarter, setting up for the dramatic finish that saw them maintain the three point, 53-50 win, despite Taija Sta. Maria’s 8 points in the frame. Sta. Maria ended off the game with 16 total points as Crestwood’s second leading scorer as the Lions came up short.

The win in the Championship game capped off an undefeated weekend for Bond Academy. They also registered victories earlier in the event against Thetford Prep (43-35) and Calgary Basketball Association (87-41), earning them a chance to play for the event’s Varsity level Championship.

Bond Academy standouts Ally Fearon and Skylar Forbes were named Co-Tournament MVPs.
