On December 7th, Bond held a safety assembly for all our international students on campus. A local police officer was invited to give an informative presentation focusing on the recent ransom "kidnappings" that have taken place in the GTA in the past few weeks targeting Chinese students.

"Criminal, victim and opportunity are the three factors of one crime. Be aware and be alert not to give the criminals the opportunity, and to avoid ourselves becoming victims." The officer emphasized during the presentation.

The officer also suggested to the students that it was important to realize different dangerous or suspicious situations and how to stay safe. He mentioned a few proper methods and procedures for the students in case they face these unsafe situations.
