Body Control Training

The Special forces have a saying they apply to their training, "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast."
In the Bond Academy physical education class the Coach trains our students to learn to move smooth. During this process students must first unlearn tense, and rigid body movement, and relearn how to move naturally and free. Russian Special forces trainer and Systema martial art instructor Konstantin Komorov explains, "this type of practice is difficult mainly because it demands a rejection of a significant part of one's self: rejection of old, hard-earned patterns, habits, and unconscious reactions of the body." When our Bond students begin to practice their front rolls and backrolls they indeed move with excess tension and fear. However, once these negative fear based movements are reconditioned our students begin to move their bodies with much more freedom and flexibility. I hope this freedom of their muscles and tendons extend to the freedom in their thoughts and their spirit. Unfortunately, most of us spend our lives locked inside our tension, and our fears, unable to flow.
Here are 3 Bond students who have been training in Bond's Athletic Program for years. They have freed themselves from fear based tension of the body. All 3 students move very smooth and fluid. Like water. I am happy to say that many of our students move with freedom.
