Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 22

It is that time of year again. The time when we show our appreciation for all that Terry Fox did. He was a true HERO!! Cancer research has come a long way and it's due to the contributions of people like us that donate to such a great cause.  Terry’s personal experience and research led him to a simple conclusion – more money was needed for cancer research.

On Friday, September 22nd we will be doing our school run in the afternoon. All students will bring their donation forms home. Please send them back no later than Friday, September 22nd to my attention.

Last year we raised $12,295.00. Hoping to surpass that goal this year!

Thank you again for your continued support!

Orange Shirt Day on September 29

Friday, September 29th, will be Orange Shirt Day to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, acknowledging the impact of the Canadian Indian residential school system on our Indigenous families.

It is also our first Pizza Day and Dress Down Day for the year! While wearing their orange shirts, students can dress down by making a donation that will go toward The Orange Shirt Society. The cost of the DDD is a minimum of $2 or $4/family.

The Orange Shirt Society is a non-profit organization with its home in Williams Lake, BC where Orange Shirt Day began in 2013. The purposes of the Society are as follows:
  • To support Indian Residential School Reconciliation

March Madness Table Tennis Tournament Begins on March 24

"Bond Secondary is excited to welcome back its second annual "March Madness Table Tennis Tournament"!

Beginning this Friday, 32 teachers and students will be competing over the next two weeks here in the Bond gymnasium. The tournament format is structured to replicate the very popular NCAA College Basketball tournament in the United States. Mr. MacSween's grade 12 Recreation and Healthy Active Leadership class has been tasked with organizing this event. Everyone participating in the tournament is asked to donate one non-perishable food item as their entry fee. All donations will go to the Daily Bread Food Bank, a not-for-profit organization here in Toronto. We are very excited to be working with this organization again.

We are all looking forward to this great event!"
