Update on COVID Protocols - Effective Monday, April 4
April 3rd, 2022
Taking into account the escalating numbers and concerns around another wave, and the number of reported cases in the Bond Community, Bond will be moving forward cautiously and in phases with the reduction of our protocols.
At the same time, we are anxious to return the school to a higher level of normalcy including the introduction of our extracurricular activities. We will review the protocols on a regular basis, and make adjustments based on the latest information and the impact on the Bond Community. The goal is to gradually adjust Covid protocols while maintaining the health and safety of our staff, students and their families. That process could include a reintroduction of protocols if warranted.
As a result of the present level of concern of the escalating cases, Bond will be maintaining all of our present Covid Protocols, with the following noted changes and exceptions:
- Families should continue to complete a Covid assessment of their family members, using the attached reference from Toronto Public Health.
- Change: Effective Monday, April 4th, there is no longer a requirement to submit the assessment to the school.
- Masks: Masks are still required for everyone entering Bond Academy. For students and staff, the following updates to our masking policy are implemented, effective Monday, April 4th:
- Change: Students and staff are allowed to remove their masks when seated at their desks working and are maintaining social distancing.
- Change: Teachers can remove their masks when teaching a lesson, as long as they are maintaining social distancing from their students.
- Update: Masks must be worn when moving around the classroom or unable to maintain social distancing.
- Update: Masks must be worn in the hallways, washrooms, and all common areas.
- Change: Students and staff can remove or pull down their masks when they are outside but must put their masks back on when re-entering the school.
- Change: Masks can be removed during activities in the gym classes. Activities should be designed to minimize extended close contact and the ventilation system should be fully active.
- Mandatory: The removal of masks is voluntary and not required, and the decision must be respected. Students and staff can choose to wear their masks at all times.

Charity Month in April: Fundraising for Unicef Emergency Relief
April 1st, 2022
On Friday, April 1st,2022 Bond Academy had a Dress Down Day with the proceeds going towards our Unicef Relief Fund. It is starting Bond Charity Month in April.
As an international community, and in the spirit of global unity, Bond will be hosting a couple of fundraisers in April, with proceeds going directly to UNICEF Emergency Relief. These proceeds will help children in need gain access to basic necessities, such as food, water, clothing, shelter, and medical care, as well as education.
Now more than ever, UNICEF needs our help to get life-saving essentials to vulnerable children and families. Unicef will match our donation, so the more the better.

Donate to UNICEF's Emergency Fund at Bond Academy
March 28th, 2022
In the midst of a crisis, many refugees and their families can only grab a few personal items before leaving their homes. This display shows objects that current refugees have chosen to carry with them.
Imagine being in their shoes... what would you take?
Please donate any spare change to UNICEF's Emergency Fund (in Bond Library). Your donation will be matched by UNICEF.
