Grade 2 Virtual Field Trip to the States’ Zoos

January 25th, 2021

The Grade 2 students in Ms. Scanlon's class went on a 'virtual' field trip to the San Diego Zoo and the Houston Zoo. Students observed some animals using some of their adaptations (for example they watched elephants use their trunks to pick up items), talked about what kind of animals they are classified as and such things as their habitats and diets. It was fun observing the animals.

Physical Education Family Day

January 22nd, 2021

Bond Family Workout Day was held on Friday, January 22nd by the Physical Education department. All family members within the household were invited to join their children in an online family workout during their physical education class for fun together.

The Bond Academy Physical Education program has always been one of the most important aspects of our school. The Head of the Physical Education department commented that Health and fitness, as well as competitive sports, are important for the development of the body, mind, and spirit of our student body.

Bond Academy is running a Bond Online Physical Education Learning Program during the school closure due to COVID. He said, online physical education learning is obviously different than face to faces learning. The dynamics of group interaction and group energy formed through games played together in person are missing. However, students can still gain from the self motivation it takes to complete the workouts on their own.

The wonderful outcome of Family Workout Day was giving an opportunity for all family members to join the student’s only physical education together. All of them were trying their best and also having fun during the workout. It created a closed and safe atmosphere for the students and their family to keep physical and to encourage positive mental health during the second provincial emergency.

Benefits from Remote Learning for Gr. 7 & 8

January 15th, 2021

Bond Elementary Principal Mr. Healey reminded parents and students of Grade 7 & 8 to pay attention to the importance of remote learning during the second phase of the Ontario provincial emergency. The Principal emphasized the advantage of the remote classes. “You will need to attend your remote classes, ask questions, participate fully and complete and submit assignments as you would in an in-school classroom. Most importantly, participating fully in school maximizes your learning and helps to develop the skills and knowledge needed for your future success in secondary school.”
